Long before Elk Grove wakes up, the lights at J R’s Donuts are already on. Every morning at 4:30, two sisters roll, raise, fry, and glaze each batch by hand - the same way they have for nearly thirty years. Regulars who came in as kids now bring their own, lining up for feather-light raised donuts, fresh cake donuts, legendary apple fritters, and croissants big enough to rival Paris. No shortcuts, no freezer trays - just warm donuts and friendly faces, daily.

Best doughnuts in Elk Grove in my opinion. Every couple weeks we indulge and get these. Always a yummy treat. The rise doughnuts are so light and fluffy, cake doughnuts are fresh and not at all heavy. Our Go-To doughnut shop. And do try their croissants, they are awesome too.
